Nature’s beauty in water and the Earth

weeping silver pear treerSilver Pear Tree flowersSolomon's Seal shoots
The weeping silver Pear has blossom, much of it blown away this morning.Closer up there were bees inside the flowers, but they declined to stay still for portrait photos. Solomon’s Seal shoots just starting to poke through, this is in a very shady part of the garden, they give such a wonderful display when the buds are almost ready to open. Watch and wait for progress.

The goldfish is almost hidden by the reflection of the fern fronds.
One of the last few tulips to bloom, this might be a dark pink, and  the parrot tulip has lime green feathers patterned on the underside of the petals. Lemons are begging to be made into that old favourite “ Lemon Cheese’. Hugh’s cousin left us a jar of that delicious spread, and with pikelets for lunch it was a feast.

I  knew there were more Butterfly designs, and after searching through many  quilting magazines, found them together. The colours of the second photo are the ones I prefer, but the design is large, the finished size is 36 inches square. This might be a “Next Year” project, as I sort out the fabrics, look at them, change, and sort out all over again. My stash of batiks has been thinned considerably after the “Monet’s Hexagon” was planned and sewn,so this will be ample reason to replenish the stock.Do I really need a reason? Hugh would say “ Surely you have enough to do even that!!!  "  Recently with some of my Birthday money I bought lovely boxes  from Whitcoulls, and yes, they are almost full, just waiting for the labels. There are another 7 purple ones to arrive. Surely they will store ever so neatly the fabrics.  Hugh will be mightily relieved. He is precise and his workshop is always, always,Neat.Tidy.Orderly.Everything in its place. My bench seems to be in a perpetual mess, then I remind myself of the saying “ A blank space means no work in progress”.

Half way to the "100", I need to speed this blog  up if I hope to reach that number before Christmas. But, knowing myself a bit better these days, I will make sure I have the " Giveaway" finished well before the Giveaway time date arrives. Blog on,girl.

Quotation of the day, from J Clarke,

Has Hugh not seen the sign that says:
"A tidy house is a sign of a wasted life"
HA ha - no one could ever accuse me of having a wasted life!!
