Yes, the secret is out, we are officially “ For Sale” and I can assure you, this has given me  a  constant, immense state of upheaval in my heart. Hugh is ready for a new challenge, and the southern pastures, meadows and hills are calling. Not quite green paddocks,  I cannot see me milking cows or herding sheep, but some  lawns,  a vege garden,( necessity) a room for my quilting and photography endeavours,( first priority) and that stunning scenery , which will be  waiting.

Our place

Adding to the turmoil, Poppy is still missing, and a friend and I talked, she thinks Poppy chased the stray kitten, got out of her own territory, and after a day or so, didn’t come home to be our girl again.Tame cats can do this, but it doesn’t make me feel any better about it, not knowing.Again I thank you all so very much for words, love, hugs and comfort.

Today at      http://flowerladysmusings.blogspot.co.nz/

Lorraine had the most wonderful quote from Melody Beattie, and it gave me a glimmer of peace and acceptance. I will ask her if I can post it here tomorrow.

Quotation of the day from Mary Anne  Radmacher

“ Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice

at the end of the day saying, ‘ I will try again tomorrow’ “

Greetings from Jean

Does that mean the South Island? How can you bear to leave such an idyllic spot?

That is a beautiful quote, so poignant for you right now. I can feel the upheaval and your grief about Poppy. I am thinking of you, sending cyberhugs.

No new place yet, Lori, but we do have a large tent!!!sent an email, thanks for your words, greetings from Jean,p.s. do you get to use a carriage when driving the horses after they get used to reins, or is it only with reins? I have a friend who does that, her husband builds the carriages.

Dear Jean ~ I wish you and Hugh the best as you sell this beautiful home of yours and move elsewhere. May it all go smoothly and quickly. May you find a lovely new home just meant for you.

Yes, you can use the quote in your blog. I found it online myself.

I loved your quote this morning.

Have a very nice day.

So, Jean, you've made the decision, and your homestead is for sale. I just returned to Breckenridge, so I'm catching up on your news. So much change, including the loss of Poppy - take care of yourself, my friend. Hugs.

Smile - I just put the same quote on this mornings blog post.
One thing cats are very resourceful and if someone will feed and pet them - they move on. But for us humans they leave such a gap! ((hugs))

What a big decision to make. Change is not easy. We talk about moving, but not sure I'd ever really have the courage to do it.

Nancy J said...

Gayle, yes this took some really deep thinking to make the choice/decision to move.do not underestimate your courage, you have it in gallons!!!For me, it might be learning to drive on icy/ snow covered roads!!!I'll think of you every time I do.Greetings from Jean.

I am so proud of you for supporting Hugh in his "calling". Challenges are good for us. Just keep telling yourself that. Can't wait to follow along.

Sometimes change is good. It shakes life up a bit. I know there are days I want to move to experience a different type of lifestyle, but then there are days I am here at the ranch and think it's the most beautiful place how could I ever be happy somewhere else. Looking forward to see where this new challenge may take you.

You are moving?! You already seem to live in a most beautiful area... and you have found somewhere MORE beautiful? Exciting changes and fun for the rest of us who will enjoy your photos.

Sorry to have missed this one Jean....it's been busy around here.
Moving can be very stressful. Leaving our comfort zone can be very unnerving to some. With your future location sounding very lovely, I must believe these fears will be short-lived.
Your lovely home will find new occupants that will look after it as you have.
