The late afternoon sky had some glorious cloud colours, and I liked the way the sun shone dimly through cloud and tree.

The goldfish look as though they are flying, my reflection,   donned in fleece jacket and Swandri coat!!!.

Quotation of the day, for all those in the earthquake areas,

Hi Lindsjo, Lorraine and Tex, the lambs look like lovely bundles of pure white curly wool, but when first born are not so pretty. I'll get Patrick to call me when it happens!! yes, lots of warm clothes here, I think of you all in the heat. And ta for thoughts about the quake, Wellington buildings have had extensive damage, also in Marlborough. aftershocks every few minutes, the Wgn. CBD closed this morning, workers told to come in after midday. We are hoping there is not a larger one. Cheers to all, Jean.

Spring flowers must be a true treat at this time of year! They are beautiful. The gum tree photo truly shows what a big tree it is.

I love your quote. So, fear does hold a purpose? I'm glad to hear that, since I have fears and Shyla has even more.

I hope that the sheep gives birth soon!

Hope all is well with you and yours Jean. Hopefully the aftershocks will be done soon and you'll be good to go. Beautiful words and photos as always. Flowers, my favorite.

Hi all, we are safe, about 469 miles or 756km in a straight line from the earthquake area, but it was felt in Auckland, which is 935 miles or 1505 km away. Luckily its epicentre was out to sea, about 30km from land. Lambs, spring flowers, milder days, no frosts, and our families are all safe, we are so rich in all these things, blog friends included hugely. Greetings from Jean

Kate's wait is over, so hopefully there are lambs being born as well. Are they yours? Your gum tree photo is stunning, and would be a thing of beauty framed and hung.

Hi Kim, Ron, Akasa and Ashling, the ewe, lambs, tree and flowers are all in Patrick and Judith's garden and paddock. I took the sky photo from their driveway, with no power lines in the way. We have just one small property between us, so I walked along the footpath, by the side of the road, and dawdled down the driveway, so as to not disturb the lambs. Fat girl still waiting, I had hoped she might time it to keep up with Kate!! Well done, 8 lb, 6oz, a great size for the first one, now for the names. Greetings to all, as our sunrise this morning heralded in the new baby in spectacular colours, Jean.

That blue flower is so beautiful, what amazing color. Those sheep remind me of the days at our long time ago hobby farm we had sheep and lambs every spring. We had every farm animal under the sun. Hard to believe I managed all them. I do remember I had no flowers though to tend. The animals would eat everything. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not go south for the winter and get a bunch of animals again. Our place here really is perfect for it. Ok I am dreaming I have those other dreams I am trying to get done.

Dream on Carrie, no cost in any of those. I need to walk to Patrick's paddock today, maybe another set of twins. But no matter how lovely farm animals are, they all involve lots of work, often unseen by anyone but the owners. Greetings from Jean
