A Family Story

A friend sent me this link, a story of one family.

Life is fragile, mother’s love can be stretched far and wide, and she has busy days, Luckily the father is there to give a helping hand at meal times.

Soon the family grows old enough to leave home.

I wonder if that MUM felt as  other Mums  do when there is  the    “Empty Nest” as one by one family members become adults and make their own way into the wide world.

Thank you so much for your caring words, my friend is still in hospital, the patient enquiry tells me “ comfortable”, and I truly hope that is how it is. I grieve too early, with much sadness for a life too short, have many memories that will bring tears or a smile, and a photo to remind me of the bright joy and laughter  that arrived  with each visit.  I  hope for one more visit, to share laughter, love, and hugs together.

Quotation of the day, from Helen Keller

"My friends have made the story of my life.

In a thousand ways they have turned my limitations into beautiful privileges       and  enabled me to walk serene and happy           in the shadow cast by my desperation."

Greetings from Jean

Jean, so sorry to hear about your friend - have only just read the post as have been away a couple of days.

I just loved that amazing video - you could feel for the robin when it returned with food to the empty nest.

Hope things improve for you soon.

We had overnight temps in the fifties last night and should again tonight. Next week sees highs in the 80s return for a little. Overall it is cooler. Relief!

I hope you get your one more visit. I'm so sorry about your friend.

Unfortunately, I can't watch the video right now because my internet is not behaving well.

Thank you all for comforting words, I was gifted a phone call yesterday, after being transferred from "patient enquiry" the charge nurse said " As it is so early (was 8.15 a.m.) I'll make an exception!!! How lucky was I. A great chat, I feel a whole lot happier now. Another fine morning here, soft pale orange clouds, and blue sky above. Greetings to all, Jean.

What a lovely quote Jean. I truly hope your friend will gain strength and get better.
Not having any children, I have been spared the 'empty nest' syndrome that so many people experience when their kids leave home. I am certain I'd have a very difficult with this.
