Shepherd’s Delight, Red Sky at Night

Tonight the sky was pure magic, my camera cannot do full justice to nature’s magnificence. To the west and south, these colours shone.

Magical colours

Western sky from our front lawn

Further beyond the trees, the gold started to show. All four lads tucked up, sheltering from the wind that has blown all day.

One of the boys ready for nightime

Quotation of the day, author unknown

“ May there be just enough clouds in your life

to create a glorious sunset”

Greetings from Jean

You get such wonderful skies down there.

What a beautiful sunset Jean!
Makes sense that 'shepherds' would be used there in the land of sheep.

Sailors outnumber sheep here by 10 to 1! Thus our version is the similar but different.
have a wonderful week ahead!

A beautiful way to end the day--I wonder how many people didn't take a moment to notice?

Thank you all for lovely comments. Last night the photos were taken about 9.12 p.m. ,a mite cool outside, our B&B guests came home, Hugh wondered what I was doing!!! And the alpaca boys, not ours, they are in the neighbour's paddock just over the fence. Today's weather, 20C, gusty westerly, from 33 to 50 knots, so if either a shepherd or sailor, depending where you live, you would want to venture far from shelter. Greetings to all, Jean. p.s. down here some also use the "sailor's delight or warning" for night or morning skies.

Amazing how often our skies look alike, though we are thousands of miles apart!

Beautiful skies, Jean, both in your photos and your header. That poem is my earliest memory in my life, only in Prince Edward Island (Canada) we said sailor not shepherd! I saw your icon/comment on Breckenridge Barb's blog and hopped over. She went down to Denver to warm up while we came up to Breck to play in the snow. There are huge heaps of snow everywhere. Very lovely. I hope you are enjoying a great weekend.
