Purple is the colour

The Wayward Transparency blocks are together, I have added a border of the pale mauve, and it will wait to be quilted,  “ Join the queue”I said.

This was another wonderful design from Yvonne at

 Quilting Jetgirl,

and it was so apt that after I arranged the flimsy outdoors, a plane flew overhead. It all seemed to be just right. There have been some fantastic choices for the fabrics, the quilting has left me in total awe, and many thanks must go again to Yvonne, for this QAL, the suggestions, the superb pattern that all went together like a dream.Points matched, so did seams, and this will be  a family gift when  finished.

You will need to look at this with  very good eyes, no tele lens, and it was so high by the time it cleared the clouds. But the plane is there, a little to the right of the arrow head.

We have had some rain, some very hot days, for us 34.4 Celsius is a scorcher. Then some wind, and I found the littlest nest of all. Made with such care, lined with white fluff from the poplar trees, and the builder had carted that a fair way , at least 100 metres,I marvel at the workmanship.

I propped it in a tiny shrub, and have kept it as a reminder that in the whole world, there are designers and builders of all types, everywhere.

On Sunday, I had a  short holiday, another ambulance trip at 2.30 a.m. after angina pain did not ease up with my medication. I am so thankful for our ladies and men who come at all hours, arrange to have another more advanced paramedic meet us half way, more medication, the “jungle juice” stuff!! After some hours on the most uncomfortable narrow bed of all times, doctors finally arrived, blood tests done, troponin levels in both tests were negative, and I am scheduled for a Myoscan, where a small amount of a radionuclide is injected  and  this is taken up into the heart muscle. After exercise, ( can you see me on that treadmill)…pictures are taken with a gamma camera, that will show, at rest, what areas have not taken up the dye.

Or they might do this the other way around, photos first??

Then off I go to have a NO COFFEE lunch. Then another set of photos, to see if my heart absorbs the dye after some rest.

The best, it will show  something is not right, the worst, no COFFEE the day before or on the day. And if they find what they think they will, a trip to  Wellington for an angiogram and maybe stents.

I am optimistic, and so thankful for all the care and fast action.

Stress, rushing, hard work, and walking fast are all out for a while.Thank goodness the firewood is all done.

Quotation of the day, author unknown

“ Be kind,

be thoughtful, be genuine,

but most of all, be thankful”

Greetings from Jean.

Jean, I love your fabrics and the layout you chose for your quilt! This will be beautiful! "Join the queue," that made me giggle. You should like me :) I do hope you are feeling better and that everything comes back well. Hopefully, they can get you all fixed up so it doesn't happen again. Your quilts need you and we do too :)

Hello, Jean! I am so sorry to hear about your chest pain. That is a scary time. Thank God for the paramedic and their quick response. I have heard of people having the nuclear stress test? I hope you have good results and the problem is quickly fixed. I will keep you in my prayers. Your quilt looks beautiful and I like the cute nest. Take care! Sending my get well wishes.

The quilt top is beautiful and adding a bit of a border helps it float very nicely. I hope that that Myoscan goes smoothly and helps provide some answers. Take care!!

Oh Jean, so sorry to hear about your angina pain and need of medical intervention. What can one do but follow professional advice though. I'm like you -- no coffee would be a hardship! What a lovely effect on that transparency design. And I almost wish I was a baby bird being hatched into that cozy nest. Birds really are master designers!

I hope your tests don't show anything too serious wrong.

Oh dear Jean, the first month of the year is only half way through and you have had another trip in your "golden carriage" I do hope they get the angina sorted out and you can have a decent period without ambulance trips. I hope that Hugh is progressing well.

With storms forecast for tomorrow I have picked some seed heads from the poppy to collect the seed.

love and hugs Sue

Oh Jean. I was so awed by your beautiful quilt and by that tiny nest that you found... but then I read of your angina. I am sad that you'll be slowed down again for a while but I'm glad that you'll be taken care of soon and so carefully. I'd have trouble with the "no coffee" part of the ordeal too... but you'll get through it. Hopefully, it will lead to some relief for you. Sending love.

Hi Jean, Just found your blog - what a busy quilter you are! I love your version of the I Wish you a Merry QAL blocks. And of course your red bear :) I'm so sorry to hear of your angina pain. I hope your scan and the following decisions go really well for you. I love NZ - my hubby works with some Red Cross folk in Wellington on occasion. I'd love to see more of your country one day. Take care. xx

A scare for you, Jean. I hope no stents are needed. In the meantime, rest and think positive thoughts. Hugs from CO.

Dear Jean, what a scare that must have been. I'm so thankful that professionals were there to help you and that you will soon have the dye/exercise test. I hope all goes well and that soon you will be able to have coffee and exercise! Be gracious to yourself. Peace.

I'm so sorry for your health issues. You have so much to do!
We're still madly following tennis, as you know. Poor Genie. We're watching her PVRd match this morning. I have to stay off social media and all. I am not hopeful.
Good luck, dear friend, with all your trials and tribulations. I am happy that you have good people in your EMS, as we do.
Lots of hugs and xx

Your transparency quilt is pretty in purple! How perfect to see a plane flying overhead during the photo shoot. Keeping you in my prayers, my friend. And sending hugs from Canada!

You are so wonderful to save that little nest and marvel about the designers everywhere. :-) I have found two hummingbird nests over the years, TINY, such marvels as are the tiny birds... Wonderful wonderful is your purple WT and the plane that flew so auspiciously overhead. Hoping for good news and a course of action for the angina worries. No coffee? Yikes. I need just one a day, in the morning...not sure how I'd be without it..not happy for sure! Sending hugs to your side of our lovely planet.

My heart goes out to you, Jean! I hope that the doctors get everything sorted out well for you. Your quilt is lovely! The bird's nest is beautiful. We work so hard to surround ourselves with security, and here there are all these little birds that surround themselves with bits of woven fluff and build their lives! It boggles my mind. Wishing you a happy weekend, my friend!
