A Day to Remember

As Grandparents we have  so many memories of the little ones, the day they are  born, the first steps, maybe kindergarten, holidays with us, growing up, school, then University.
But nothing prepared me for the elation, joy and pride as our grandson graduated with a Bachelor of Science.
Photos to come as soon as they are forwarded on.
Thanks to the Victoria University live view link, we were able to see Josh walk onto the stage, and receive his " Piece of Paper"as so many call it. That scroll is so important , and we hope he continues with the Master's years as well as he has done for the last 3 years.
At home the mess continues, Gib stoppers have been and finished, WooHoo, the wet floor shower might get vinyl and floor and walls done at the weekend. No more walking along the footpath to our wonderful neighbours for a shower!!! Painting starts next week, and then the storage room shelves will be built and filled ( To Capacity)!!!
I  truly sympathise with anyone that is in the throes of renovations!!!

Quotation of the day, from Eleanor Roosevelt

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"

Greetings from Jean

It is wonderful that technology now allows far away grandparents to see major events in their grandchildren's lives.

So nice to hear from you Jean. We're just starting into renovating a bathroom so I can get into the shower. Still at the decision-making stage; not looking forward to the construction stage.

Congrats again on your grandson. Such an achievement. Sounds like you are in the midst of a mess with the remodeling. But I know you are excited too as soon this too will be done.

Thanks to you all. The celebrations were well earned. The bathroom, the plan was to make it wheel chair access-easy if needed in the future. We are all so looking forward to normal plumbing!!!

I don't envy you all the mess with the renovations!! Lucky you have good neighbours! Before long you'll hopefully be able to have your quilting frame set up and your machine and be back sewing!
Congratulations to your grandson Jean, brilliant idea from the University to have a live link.

Sounds like progress, but a long renovation is no fun! Congrats to the grandson!

What a milestone for your grandson, Jean! You and Hugh have every right to be proud of him! My father always referred to the "piece of paper" as the "sheepskin." Times have changed ~ LOL! We're looking at some renovations at our current home ~ We're holding off bidding on more houses for a little while. (That will last until Terry sees a house that he likes!). Enjoy your weekend! Sending you hugs!

Congrats to you and to your grandson, yes quite an achievement. You and I have chatted/lamented about renovations, but we hold the end in our minds during the struggles and frustrations. :-) Will be watching for photos.

How exciting for you all and well done to your grandson👨🏻‍🎓 You must be very proud Nancy.
My cousins granddaughter is in her second year at Vic. She’s from Palmerston.
My three granddaughters are still at school but the eldest turns 16 in November and is already planning University!

What a proud moment for grandparents! We so want our little ones to succeed and do well in life.
Pace yourself, Jean, with all these renos. It can tire you in ways you never thought of. I've had a handyman here for two days helping me move wood and fix the front stone steps.Feels good to get things done, but aching a bit now. Rest this weekend.
