From the Archives

The room where I have my laptop, a warm fire, and the Bernina now sits on top of the desk, looks like it was tucked away in the  hard drive place when I took this photo, and the desk is sooo tidy!!!

The room where it all happens

Protea Nerifolia , this tree has suffered some damage, and may need to be removed. So this bloom is rather special.

And a collage, but I see it is not set in the centre, well, I didn’t have to make it perfect. But  centre setting would have been so much better!!! The block holder is downloaded, and comes  with a tutorial.  The Poppy flowers are from a public garden in Palmerston North.

Tomorrow, you will hear shouts, even in the Far North, when the firewood is all split!! Then it will be time to sort out some fabrics, and maybe even go shopping for a green to frame the batik blocks.

Lovely blooms Jean! I could use a sit by the fire right now, it's getting chilly!

Wow! So glad to hear the wood splitting is nearly done. You both deserve the warm home you've provided for. Glad you can get back to fabric too. With Love, G

Cosy space. You will be pleased when you have finished the firewood, happy you will be next winter!

Oh, how I wish I had just one room that looked that neat and welcoming!

Love your cosy corner - if you are as hot as we are today that fire wont be going. What a shame your protea has to go. We have one which we have allowed to get too tall. I'm going to cut it back after it has flowered and keep my fingers crossed that it will survive.

Update, the wood is FINISHED.. Photos to come soon, a mighty massive pile...and the room has never been so tidy as it was that day, usually bits of this and that, fabrics put out to look at, then back they go again. Tomorrow, Thursday in NZ, Hugh finally has the appt., for the sciatic nerve root injection. NBM, from 6 a.m. not to drive afterwards, if they let him come home, and no hard work for 7 days!!! How will I tie him to the chair?? Cheers,Jean.

The wood is FINISHED!!!! Yay!

I adore the Protea Nerifolia. I hope the tree doesn't have to go.

Hurray for all that wood getting (finally) split. I like seeing all those colorful blooms since I have snow on the ground. My kitchen counter is my computer desk.

Tie him, indeed!
We have a few flowers still, with this warm October.
I just want to go to bed, with tea and a book, but it is too hot!
