Plunket Update on “Boris”

The little ginger chap is thriving, Hugh has named him “Boris” but I have always associated this with a burly, maybe Russian giant of a man. In Slavic, the meaning of this name is “Warrior” and maybe it  does suit him, as he must be the ultimate survivor, arriving late at night, from somewhere??   Nevertheless, he is doing well. He sits in the plastic bowl on the scales, waiting for a feed, when he gets his daily “weigh-in” ….
See below, did I say Sleep Deprivation rules my life??
Weight Chart for Boris, May 2015
Monday 11thMay 670gm
Tuesday 12thMay 730gm
Wednesday 13thMay 820gm
Thursday 14thMay 850gm
Friday 15thMay 875gm
Saturday 16thMay 905gm
Sunday 17th May 975gm
Monday 18thMay 980gm
Waiting for a game
Little ginger in bed #1
Lip licking in anticipation for breakfast, second sitting, as he has already had one meal at 4.15 a.m.
( Did I mention BROKEN SLEEP???)
Little ginger licking his lips

Playing #4
The bobbles on Joyce’s pink slippers were passed by in favour of the little box.
Playing #1                       I really like to have first go at the crosswords?
Playing #3
He is almost toilet trained!!! Hooray!!!
Now all we have to do is wait for the vet clinic to find his new home, even though Hugh really, really, wants to keep him. I have too much else going on to keep him, much as I would like to as well.
Now all we need to do to finish his story is find where he came from, no-one nearby has a cat with kittens, no-one has listed him as missing, a mystery of huge proportions!!!
Quotation of the day, from Boris Pasternak
“ Surprise is the greatest gift which life can grant us”
Greetings from Jean

He's a sweet little Boris from heaven.

I don't see how you could let someone else have him. He has already warmed his way into my heart all this many thousands of miles away.

I have 4 girls, and love them all. They were all born on this property. Two are sisters, 10 years old, the next one was abandoned behind the enclosed barn and left to die, DH rescued her and she's 9. These three all live in the barn. The next one to come along was abandoned here with three siblings, who all died. DH called her 'Flowerpot Kitty' because she slept in flowerpots. She's our 4th and final member of the family she's 8. The three barn girls did NOT accept her into their domain, so she became my indoor girl after DH left this planet. She gives me much comfort.

They all are a joy, all have their own personalities.

Boris the warrior just might turn into being the king of your property. :-) I mean he's almost potty trained, that's GREAT! He'll keep unwanted critters at bay. He'll follow you and be your friend. His purrs will comfort you and are also healing. (You can look that up on the internet.) The fact that Hugh likes him is a big plus too.

Not that I'm trying to talk you into this or anything. ;-)

Love and hugs and a good ending to Boris's story.

Looks like you're busy taking care of the little fur baby. I just have the feeling that if you named the kitty, he'll end up staying. Soon, you'll have him trained and it will be easy! Get some sleep!

I've had friends recently who have tried to talk me into having a cat but I have resisted for reasons I'm not quite sure of, so I won't weigh in on that issue. I never had one so young come to live with me, but my 16th birthday puppy kept me up nights for quite a while. My mom had me set my alarm so I could take Trixie out at regular times to house train her. At least their babyhood is shorter than human babies!

Come on, you're not going to let this baby go. He's too cute! I couldn't let him go.

Oh, but he is a darling kitten. I have kept many a cat dumped on my doorstep but none as charming as that little guy. People tend to dump kittens in the near-by park and I can never figure out why they don't have their cats neutered if they don't want kittens.

Boris cute with the blue eyes and orange fur, you are so sweet to take him in, I hope you get more sleep soon.

I'm sure that a kitten as cute as Boris will wind up in a good home -- be it one you've vetted or your own. I do understand that there is a limit to new commitments though. Will look forward to Boris updates.

How can you bear to part with this cute pile of ginger fluff? Look at that sweet face in that perfect first photo! That's about a 20% weight gain in a week, wow! I'm rooting for Hugh! LOL! I hope you get some sleep, Jean!

Oh so sweet! I love cats but they make me sneeze and wheeze. Maybe I could foster kittens for a short time. They do work their way into your heart though.

Come on, Jean, you KNOW you can't send Boris away, especially when Hugh really, really, wants to keep him!

This is so cute, as our newest granddaughter is gaining weight, too.
When born she weighed less than Daisy. Now she is over 7 lbs.
We Skyped yesterday. SOOOO tiny. The girls were happy to see for, for about 2 minutes!!!
