According to the Christmas Carol, day 3 had 3 French Hens. I couldn’t find one, far less a French one, but found a photo from several years ago.My dear friend Maryann always had a rooster or two, hens, white and brown, and some special fluffy legged ones. Maybe they were Pekins. This was Mrs White Hen, and I was looking after her and her eggs, soon to be hatched, when Maryann and Guy were away for a few days. All went well, until one egg was left and Mrs W,H. abandoned it. I took the egg inside, kept it warm, and in due time, another wee chick hatched out.
Quotation of the day, author unknown
“ The rooster may crow the loudest,
but the hen delivers the eggs”
Greetings from Jean.

Aren't those Tula Pink fabrics sweet! A couple new to me blogs here for visiting. Love the photo of you with that gorgeous white hen and imagine being mother to a new little chick.
Mrs. White Hen is a gorgeous lady. Good thing she had you as her Nanny.
I can't believe you hatched a chick. Amazing. What a beautiful thing to do. Carol
Love your beautiful hen! Thanks for the links to the blogs!
You have so much fun, Jean! I love you!
Wow, hatching a chick must have been amazing! I love that photo.
Love, love the quote!!!! And the picture of you, Jean! My little suburban kiddos loved to go on a field trip to the Plains Conservation Center. The live hens were so exciting for them. I can still hear their shrieks of delight as they fed them.
