Situations Vacant…Position has been filled!!! Thank you all so much.

Thank you all SO  much for caring words, good wishes and loving thoughts for Hugh and his cataract surgery.

It was a long day, a lot of waiting, but all is well. His eye is very bloodshot, last night the lids were still gummed together, after the anaesthetic gel was oozing out. Day theatre staff were very caring, reassuring, and seemed to be unflappable. cool, calm and collected.

The reason why Hugh is not allowed to drive for maybe 2 weeks, is , if he is outdoors and there is any wind flying , dust, debris or anything else might get into  his  eye, it needs to be protected,  so he has this plastic shield, but the plaster obscures eyesight. And it has to be worn at night so sheets, pillow case edges or anything else cannot damage the eye.

I am hoping his recovery is fast. Meantime I am the driver, and so far so good.  Thank you for all the offers to come, fill in, and help in any other way. Your are all troopers of the highest colour.

Meantime some pics of us in earlier years.

July 2008 at  the Central Plateau. A very cold way to celebrate my birthday!!!

July 2005, another birthday photo.

Jean & Hugh

And in 1964, my Dad, me ,Hugh, my Mum and Annette. These were the days of hats, gloves stockings !!! ,  this was at a family wedding in Papakura.

All together at a family wedding, 1964 #2

And one of the Purakaunui Falls in Otago. Maybe in 2009.A very popular spot for all photographers. I remember one man from Europe clambering down the slippery rocks to be almost in the spray. I hope to be there again next February.Purakaunui Falls,Otago

Quotation of the day, from a Waterfall

“ Go with the flow,

and let the cares float away downstream”

Funny to see you celebrating a July birthday in snow. I love being able to celebrate my July birthday in a bathing suit. Great photos. Best of luck to Hugh in his recovery.

Yes, flowers give us beauty unasked. I love all your quotes and look forward to reading them, btw.
Hubby had cataracts removed from both eyes and was pleased with the outcome so good luck to Hugh. A bit of a nuisance going through it.
Good luck with the driving and I loved looking at your bygone days photos.
Oh time has to move on whether we are with it or not.

So very glad all went well, Jean, continuing in prayer!! I do remember those days of everyone dressing well, hats and gloves, I miss them....the gloves probably stopped a lot of sickness, too.

Love seeing the photos of you two. As for the surgery, everyone I have spoken to who has had it, was amazed at the results. Hope all gets back to normal for both of you.

I'm glad that Hugh's cataract surgery is behind him. Terry and I just had our pre-cataract surgery checkups a couple of hours ago. I'll be following Hugh's progress with very personal interest! I'm heading up to Calgary tomorrow ~ It's going to be snowy and cold. Take care you two!

So glad the surgery went well!! I think I will have to have that same surgery in my future, but not yet. And thank you for your kind words about my son's upcoming wedding. He had had a particularly rough 5 years previous to meeting Ashley. She is such a sweet and kind young lady, and we couldn't be happier to have her in our famiy!!

Hi, Jean! Somehow I missed this post. I sure hope Hugh has recovered from his eye surgery. I know what he's gone through. I haven't driven since June but my eye surgeries were more extensive. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
