9 Days of Worry

I have struggled to put this into words, Poppy is missing. She went outside on Sunday 6th, in the afternoon, and did not come back for dinner that night.

That  gut wrenching, utterly sick feeling, heartache, and more.

I have called, walked, phoned everyone near and far, driven to other streets,  and last week she was at a farm, and then  she had been seen at another place,  a good distance from here. Yesterday another lady thought she had seen her on Sunday. It is so hard not to wonder, not to worry.

I hope, I cry, I   totally despair, I  wonder,I  try so hard not to imagine the worst, and  I wait . Not knowing is  the worst. We have lost Toto and Finn, but were able to say goodbye.

I cannot give up yet, but know as each day passes, the reality might need to be accepted.

Quotation of the day from  Alfred Tennyson

“ If I had a flower for every time I thought of you…

I  could walk through my garden forever”

Greetings from Jean

Oh, I do feel for you Jean - it is devastating when a pet goes missing. I hope she turns up soon.

Yes Susan, thanks for caring. She has 2 distinctive markings,so if anyone sees her, can be fairly sure who it is, but the waiting is too hard. Jean.

Oh Jean, how very sorry I am to hear about Poppy, she looks to be a real sweetheart. I do so hope that she comes in the door very soon, or that you hear of another sighting and are able to go get her back. You are in my thoughts.

Oh dear Jean ~ My heart aches for you and the loss of little Poppy. If she turns up, what 'joy' if she doesn't remember all the love and joy she brought to your life.

Losing our critter friends is really hard, as they have become part of our family.

Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

Thank you all so much, words of comfort and care, helping so much. The unknown is so much harder than knowing the worst, I would accept that if I knew. Tears as I read your lovely words and thoughts. Jean.

Oh dear Nancy! Be encouraged that she is a cat and not a dog, as cats sometimes do make it back. She is such a sweetheart.

Oh Jean, I am so sorry. I hope, with all my heart, that Poppy shows up. Our friend Vickie from Bert's blog found Allred after quite a long absence. I hope that miracle happens to you.

Thank you all so much, from my heart. This seems so insignificant after the Boston tragedy, but very real here each day.I can only hope, and read your words of love, care and comfort all over again. Jean.

Poor little Poppy, and poor Jean. Around here, well meaning people take in cats they assume to be strays and sometimes their owners find them, months later. I hope that is what has happened.

Oh dear. How I hate it when a pet gets lost. I think I would go crazy. I hope someone wonderful has taken her in... I've heard it happen. Don't give up hope.

I'm so sorry Jean -- I've had cats go missing too. They like to roam and I believe, sometimes, find themselves in another caring home. At least, I hope so.
