Late Birthday News

Last week I celebrated a birthday “…….” years old, but this paled beside the Southern News!! See the link below.

http://jeanmckinstry.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/breaking-news-from-south.html.

Parcels arrived, one more to come, and the one that intrigued me is this.Folded up

Apron panel

Finished apron

A beautiful panel, with a pre-printed apron, that has a flounce at the lower edge, all instructions on the fabric too. Almost too good to use, but I  know it will have pride of place when I have guests, and will save those splatters on good tops!! Many thanks, Graeme and Helen.

Phone  calls from daughters,  these were the best… the day dawned fine for   work and for their  skiing, Wanaka beckons!!!

Many thanks to all for making my day so special.

Quotation of the day, Guatemalan proverb

Everyone is the age of their heart”

Greetings   from   Jean

Repeated several times in a sing-song voice.

Love your apron panel, didn't iy make up nicely. I'm a real apron person, but then, I'm a messy cook too.

I love aprons, and that one is really lovely! I don't know that people wear them as much any more, but me, I always make a mess and need one! :-)

Happy Birthday Jean !!

Thanks Kim and Brit, at my age I would be happy if that day went by with no celebration at all, but blog friends' messages make me realise it needs to be .Frost here, I wonder what the day was like all those years ago in Auckland, I think of my Mum, as I was born on her birthday, we shared it together for so many years, and still I share with her ,memories that last always. Greetings from Jean

Happy belated Birthday Jean. I love that little apron kit to make. Well I finally got my new camera the Panasonci FZ200 just love love it. Just handheld the zooms are coming out very clear. Love zooming on the flowers and bees and hummingbirds. It is beginning to feel part of my hand. Just been using Auto so far as really haven't had time to do much reading on trying new things out. Hope have a wonderful week. Hugs Carrie

Thanks Barb , Carrie and Kimberly, the day was good, gifts lovely, and all was surpassed by the family engagement. Party to come later in October I think, and official notice in public papers this weekend, that will make it very real for sure. We are so fortunate to have two wonderful daughters, 2 great son-in-laws,( well, one is, and the other is almost there) and super grandies, Josh and Danielle. Greetings from Jean.
