My New Toy!!

August 5th, Trade Me auction, and I was the successful bidder !! Just  think,  I might need to travel to Otago to collect it, one sure way of having a holiday…, meantime family will pick it up for me later in the week.

A Vanguard tripod,  my very own. One step closer to next year and

“Diploma in Digital Photography.”

I have reasoned that if I gradually gather all things needed for the course, by the time I start, will have them all. On the other hand, might be way too old!!!  Me, not the accessories…

The little Gorilla Pod was great for my smaller camera, and  is now  used with a GoPro Hero video camera.Great for when you want to get time lapse videos from a window, and OK, while waiting to buy a suction mount, which is far superior!!!

Another form of easy to carry camera support is “ The Pod”, but I might have to purchase a ‘long lens” to justify the need. They come in different sizes, and the inner bag with beans/pellets/or sand can be taken out for lightweight travelling, refill it when you arrive. Photo courtesy of the internet.

The Silver Pod

Quotation of the day, author unknown,

“ All good things come to those who wait”

Yes, very cool, usually it is Hugh who gets new gadgets, so I am thrilled. Hope to get lots of slow shutter pics very soon. Cheers from Jean.

Hey Jean! This looks to be a good tripod! Good for you. Taking a course eh? Never to old my dear.....I am sure you could teach them a thing or two!
I like that 'The Pod'. Very handy and not cumbersome at all. Thanks for this idea....have not seen this before.

You are ahead of me in the "taking a class" thingie....I want to but don't want the pressure...I get all wonky inside.

You certainly know about the Go Pro world...have you tried to win one...go to their website and play everyday!

I do!!

Cheers
Ron

You will never be too old. All good things to come to those who wait. Yeah I finally go my new camera. The FZ200. I loooove it. Feels so good in my hands. Boy do I need to take a photography class now. Oh the things it could do if I knew how. But for now love the zoom on it. It light and easy to handle. So busy these days just can't find to time to really start learning. Might have to give a blog or two to commit more to learning on the camera. Anyway you keep going girl you are my inspiration on the photo class.
Hugs Carrie

Carrie, lovely words, many, many thanks. You are on my " Bucket list", when I get courage, finance and time to travel. I truly marvel at you and all others who have more than one blog, this takes up my time, not only with words, but taking photos, sorting, editing, your last post had great settings for all the pics. Fond greetings, Jean.

Very nice! I'm excited about your course. I'm intrigued by the "pod". I am currently being spoiled by my friend who has loaned me the Cadillac of tripods. I don't know what I'm going to do when he moves away (his stay here is for only a year).

Hi KB, what brand is your " Tripod on loan" ? I looked at all the so very expensive ones here, and decided a good solid one will do for the meantime. The Pod, will email you a pic of one I made, without the 1/4 inch screw. Works a treat. Greetings from Jean
