Can You Hear The Drums, Orlando?

Did you run as fast as you could? Did you know today would be the day your fleece would be shorn, and soon we will see some wonderful creations from Fiona?

They are almost unrecognisable from the woolly boys of yesterday. The warm weather is a good time to shear them,  now they do look very BARE!!! But, without all that fleece, I can see they really are BOYS!!!

I'm hiding in the shed

Some shade for our bare skins Did I know it would be TODAY

Quotation of the day, author unknown

“ Never ask the shearing gang/barber/ or hairdresser  if you need a haircut,  the answer will  always be YES”

Greetings from Jean

Goodness, aren't their necks long! They look more sheep-like. I wonder if they are as docile as sheep usually are while being sheared.

Love your quote. LOL Oh those guys are going to feel so much cooler now. Sorry I missed so many of your previous blogs. I accidently deleted all blog feed updates. This is twice I have done this. At there I can often quickly read and stay caught up. Now I know I have missed so much on many peoples blogs. Oh Well. Wish you both a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Hugs Carrie

Hi all, I was talking to Fiona this morning, and Biggles, one of the smaller boys, not only got shorn, but was castrated too!!! Very graphic indeed. And Orlando( Honey colours in his fleece) is not the tallest, Grenadier is, so after being able to know them by name, and fleece, now I need to distinguish by height and what is left on their head. Greetings, Jean. p.s. Lindsjo, Fiona will have the fleece carded, and she might spin it. will do posts of that when done, then knit into hats? scarves? her man suggested a Kaftan!!! This was met with raised eyebrows...But I guess in Peru they do just that.

They are sure sweet looking animals.
I bet their fleece is so nice and warm!

Yes, the boys are lovely friends, would that I was at least 20 years younger, then I too would like to have them, breed, use their fleece, and show them off. Cheers, Jean. p.s. I have heard the fleece that is not top grade can be used for house insulation!!! Very warm.

What a fun post. Last week the alpacas down the road were sheered and they look so naked. It won’t be long before they will be wearing their little jackets to stay warm.

You realise I'll have that Abba song on my brain now!!
Could be worse with all these so called Christmas songs on the radio and in the malls - [and yes, I know the song is Fernando] Regards, June

Their wool is fantastic to spin and use. They don't look half bad. They are too cute for that.
