Sunday Sunshine

This morning our ginger boy came in at 6.30 a.m., headed straight to our bedroom, had a snack of biscuits, then walked out slowly. Later on I looked out the front windows, and there he was, sunning himself in a sheltered spot. He is getting a little tamer, and I am hoping to find out very soon if he does belong to a lady some  many , many , almost 200 kilometres away!!! Happiness would be with us all if this was so.

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.

Yes, he comes in so quietly, and if we did not have a food dish in our bedroom, wouldn't know at all. Hugh moved it there to make sure a stray cat was not eating all Felicity's food.. now he says " Felicity, leave Max's food alone!!!" He is getting a lot tamer, didn't run when I walked up to about 6 feet away this morning, but it is possible, and I hope probable, that he belongs to a young lady about 155 km away!!! And when he eats, Felicity just sits on our bed and listens, she isn't worried at all, what does that say about cats?? Cheers from Jean.

I have always found cats to have the most unique behavior. I am extremely allergic or I would have one myself.

Ginger Boy must think he owns the place! walking in and eating food and then leaving. I wonder just what Felicity is thinking. He is handsome, I hope he has a home..Thank you for linking up to Saturday's Critters. Have a happy weekend!

It would be great if Max the Ginger Boy does already have a loving home and you can facilitate his return, but if not...well wait and see.

I am wondering how you hooked up with someone 200 miles away that may have owned the cat. A former neighbor maybe? Keep those biscuits coming.

Here in NZ we have several websites for lost and found pets, I entered " Ginger and white long haired cat" and up came an address all those 155km away. I phoned, we swapped photos, and I am hoping it might belong to another lady who is missing her boy so much. The time frame fits in, I just need to get a close up of his face and mouth!!! Easier said than done. In the meantime he seems happy, is VERY well fed, and now even Felicity is looking out for him. Cheers to all, Jean.

That certainly is a long way for a cat to have walked. Perhaps someone picked him up and drove him near you?

A funny mistake, the 6'11" versus a foot shorter. When you said 6'11", I wondered why he wasn't playing basketball!

Many hopes that you've found his owner.

It's lovely to have such a sweet visitor, but it would be great if he got back home

Hi all, Tania and I are in email contact all the time, I have sent the latest photos, and we both are hoping Max is really " Ernie", the only solution to all this is maybe he hopped or was put in a car that was coming near here, the car stopped, he hopped out, and made his way to our place!!! This is really the " longest shot possible"!!!But we both hope for the best. meanwhile, well fed, and he is happy. Cheers from Jean.

What a sweet handsome boy who has moved into your home and hearts so nonchalantly.

What an amazing story if he is Ernie and traveled so far from home.

Love and hugs to you dear Jean.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

No matter what his story may be, I'm glad he's found safety and a good meal with you!!

We need to know when this Max/Ernie mystery is solved, Jean. You wonder how a cat wandered so far, but it would be amazing if the lost was found. He is apparently accustomed to being a prince!

Cats really know what it is all about!
I think he makes a wonderful addition to your garden Jean! What a beauty he is!

Being adopted by an animal fills the heart with love. He is certainly a sunshine friend!

Hi all, first, we are safe, no damage to be seen so far, but scary. Felicity raced outside, I was by our tall firewood trees, I ran (funny, I thought that was almost impossible ) Hugh raced out to look for me. Lots of damage much closer to the epicentre, we are some 117km or 73 miles from there. Max/Ernie is still close by, coming in each morning now, a bit wet at 6.30 a.m. today. Maybe he will get tame enough for me to hold him,,, one day. Cheers, Jean.
