Spring Blossom in Winter

Last week, there was a small area of frost free lawn under the Weeping Silver Pear Tree

A sheltered patch of grass under the Weeping Silver Pear Treeweeping silver pear tree with golden leaves

Last night there was some rain, and some wind.,This morning there is a golden carpet of leaves, in that same frost-free area. And a miracle ,in winter, small white blossoms, does the  tree think it is springtime again?

A carpet of Golden Leaves #1

A few small blossoms ,hard to focus in the rain, with very grey skies all round. And one rain droplet on the end of a bare twig. Two photos, I couldn’t decide which one I liked the most, they are almost the same.  I have decided I need a rain cover for my camera!!

One blossom and rain droplet

we've had that happen here in texas, too. in october, after a hard summer's drought, when we finally get a break in the heat and a bit of rain, a couple of trees will push out blossoms in celebration of their second spring. :)

Fall is giving way to cold there. I'm just adapting to the heat here.

Looks like your pear tree is a bit confused. Hopefully it will get itself straightened out by spring. I like the second picture.

Winter starting for you, summer starting for me.

Thanks for sharing the loveliness that surrounds you.

I hope you both are doing well.

Sometimes you just have to grab those opportunities when they arise. A good message for us all...

That is a gorgeous tree, with the carpet of yellow flowers below it and it's miraculous white blossoms. I love your photos!

How strange your tree has a bloom
You can never predict what nature will do...
I'm enjoying seeing the transition into Winter there, as Summer begins soon here!

Our plum tree thinks it's spring too. Busy popping out little green leaves. I hope it doesn't wreck our chances of fruit next year.
