Winter brings its own Glorious Colours

The Cherry Trees are almost bare, a few red leaves testimony to the summer beauty,But even in winter, they show stunning colour, as those leaves change colour, then fall.

Weeds have some pretty flowers, and I have always liked the Dandelion heads, have any of you experienced the thrill of blowing the fairydown off, calling out the time to “ One O'clock, Two O'clock “and so on.

Our days are definitely cooler, the sun is lazy, rising so much later, and off to bed well before our dinner time. Fires keep warmth inside, and the first coffee of the day by a fire,  cosy, waiting for daylight, for me that is true bliss!!!

Quotation of the day from Jean de la Fontaine

“ Friendship is the shadow of the evening , which increases with the setting sun of life”

Greetings from Jean

Winter is actually my favourite time of year. Even with snow covering everything there is colour everywhere. Love your photos!

Sorry, Jean, but I do battle with dandelions each spring. Do not want them to have the chance to go to fluff! (Though my grandchildren love them.) Still cool here in the mountains, too, with below freezing temps due tonight. I haven't put out my flowered pots yet and have flats of pansies in my garage waiting to be planted. We also have a cozy fire going to take off the chill.

If I weren't so knee deep in approaching Summer, I could go for Fall right now with your images and colors.

I adore the red leaves and the dandelion. You've identified my favorite parts of winter. I'm glad that you are enjoying your coffee next to a cozy fire!

Oh yes, one o'clock, two o'clock with dandelions picked from the roadside - and then the other kids would remind you that picking a dandelion meant you would wet the bed! wonder where that came from?

The change of seasons really has a beauty all its own both in our routine and what nature brings.

I still get confused reading this! Excellent, Jean, to give us a different view of the world! I just checked in the forest for a fawn, but found a young buck! Spring is springing here! Have a lovely time in your fall.
