Today has seemed to be a lot longer than 24 hours. I woke before 4 a.m., knew I had to be up at 5 a.m. breakfast finished by 6 a.m. and over the road at 10.30 a.m.
We have just visited Hugh, at 7.15 p.m. he has finally been transferred to the ward, from PACU, ( Post anaesthesia care unit) there might have been an emergency, so not sure if his theatre time was delayed. The staff are wonderful, superb care, and I hope to know more tomorrow.
Your thoughts, prayers, caring wishes and more have stayed close to me all day. Thank you so much.
Between inquiring phone calls, a cafe lunch, a wee rest, we found a fabric shop. Batiks galore, in Kilburnie. But tomorrow there is another one to visit, in Lower Hutt, and now today is over, June, I will call you tomorrow, and hope we get to meet.
This wasn’t the shop ( photo courtesy of internet), but as wonderful.
Quotation of the day, author unknown,
“True friends are with you always, beyond distances, beyond words, beyond time”

Thinking of you and Hugh and wishing him a speedy recovery and successful outcome. I'm glad you found your idea of a candy shop in the material store. 'Fill yer boots'!
All the best, Florence.
Good news, Jean. Take good care! xx
Hello Jean, I am glad you were able to visit Hugh in the evening. I will still keep him in my prayers and wish him a complete recovery. The fabric shop looks awesome. I love the quote, take care and have a happy day!
Glad to see your update. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts. You might be in trouble in those fabric shops!
Prayers go out to you both. Good luck and take care. Carol
Pleased things are going well with Hugh!
Can you please post the address of Batiks Galore - can't find it so far. I've done a Google search and it sent me to Texas! This sounds like my kind of shop.
really hope all will be well!
Still thinking of you. But a batik fabric shop! How neat is that!
I'm thankful to hear that Hugh's operation is behind him, Jean! Back on the ward is a good thing! I've been thinking of you both throughout the day, even though my Monday is out of sync with yours. I hope that by now you've heard more about how the operation went. Stay out of trouble in those batik stores! Hugs!
Thank you all so much, today everything I s OK, Hugh has been walking, pain level good, so maybe discharged tomorrow!!! There goes my 5 day holiday and shopping spree. Jenny,I meant the shop had a huge selection of batiks, it is " Wellington Sewing Services" Kilburnie Plaza, I found one border at Nancy's, the other at this shop. Lovely helpful lady, and lots more goodies there to feast your eyes on. But maybe a trip to Texas would be good too, and why not??
It's great you could visit the batik store to take your mind off the surgery progress, and how wonderful to hear good news of Hugh's recovery, too! Your quilts seem to be coming along amazingly well too.
While waiting for news, I will be thinking about those beautiful batiks. Are they produced in the area? There is such a wonderful variety of color and design.
