Fairy Tales and other things

All Good Fairy Tales have a wonderful ending. My laptop is back, Open Live Writer is installed, some quilting blocks have been sewn, and all is good in the garden .

A frost the other morning gave the lawn a magical look, with icy crystals adorning every stem of the grass.

Frosty crystals

misty look to the frost on the lawn

I have been busy sewing the April blocks for One Block Wonder,  some more stitching needs to be done. Another stunning pattern from Sandy at  Upstairs Hobby Room. This is 6 blocks, pinned, and maybe I will make another 3 to square it up,Border fabrics auditioned at the right hand side. That little flash of lime green to “zing” it up!!!

Joyce cannot resist the local Garden Centre at Mitre 10, and this is the second stunning Streptocarpus plant she  has arrived home with. These photos were taken outside, about 5C, and no frost today.

Happiness is having your very own laptop, sending home baking to Josh at Vic University, knowing Danielle did so well with her horse Joey the other day, and having the fire lit on a cold morning.

Quotation of the day, author unknown

“ Be happy with whatever unfolds in your day,

accept changes, and look always

for the good in everyone you meet”

Greetings from Jean

I'm so glad all is well in your life. It's easier to be creative then, I think. As you and your beautiful quilt can testify to.

Wow - that's quite a frost! But it must have been a gorgeous day too, once the temps started warming up.
Pleased you have your lap top back, and everything is fine in your world.

Yes, life sounds as if it is good!! There is nothing quite like a frost settled on grass, fence posts and the like, as you say it's magical and what a lovely quilt and houseplant.

Gardens and quilts, it doesn't get much better than this!! Love your quilt. I just finished making a baby quilt for my 13th grandchild!

Frosty mornings, we are still having those here off and on, but hopefully not for much longer. Your season is changing too. Love the frosty photo. Keep sewing. Carol

Pleased that life is treating you well. The streptocarpus is a wonderful plant. Mine have been flowering constantly in my porch since early spring and show no signs of stopping.

That looks a heavy frost for so early in the autumn.

Love the frost, but where did your summer go? That zingy pattern looks great. I'm sitting by the fire, too. Snow on the way.

It's great things are going so well for you, Jean, and always the challenge of the quilt blocks. I'm trying to imagine your materials stash and what happens with all the quilt blocks after they are finished. That is an interesting pattern, I can see different things in it, like an hourglass shape. It's so strange to think of you having frosts and getting warm by the fire wien each day is potentially hotter here.

I forgot to say that I grew 5 Streptocarpus from seed this year, and one had a tiny bloom coming on already! I hope they are as pretty as yours!

What a relief to have the technology back, isn't ti?!\
Yes, I had to apologize to my daughter, the girls have scratches, and scrapes, but she said all in good fun. Izzy jumped into the pond, totally nude, but for her rain boots! She was so covered in muck!
It has been a good few days. hugs!

I thought the frost on the blades of grass were tiny blue flowers. Lovely photos! Your April OBW is coming along nicely, Nice pops of color with the yellow and reds along with the lime green. Stay cozy & warm!
