A quote from Macbeth!! This is going back to maybe 1955, when I was a High School.
However, my tomorrow, all going according to schedule, will see me in the Day Theatre for cataract surgery. I am hoping that the Cyber Attack at Waikato Hospital will not cause any delays down here, that hospital has had to cancel some surgeries, not answer to the ransom ? Undisclosed? Supposedly this happened when an email attachment was opened. So all their computers and phones were not working.
Here the weather has turned to well and truly Autumn, gale winds, torrential rain, snow further south, and the fire is doing its job to keep us all cosy and warm .
So, after the initial post-op time has been spent, I am hoping for miracles with my eyesight, the other eye also has a cataract, and goodness knows when that will get done, I have waited at least 18 months for this in our local Public Hospital, the cost to get the surgery done privately is well over NZ $ 6000 per eye, including consultations and follow ups. And even though our GP did tell me " Jean, you are in your twilight years, just go private and pay" , I was so reluctant to do that.
Here is Boris, our one and only cat now, in what was called " Self Isolation" last year.
Quotation of the day from an elderly relative, but she may have found this in her quotation book.
" You don't miss the water until the well runs dry"
Greetings from Jean

Hope all goes well with your surgery.
Things are just warning up here. We are having a rumor warm, sunny days.
Hi Folks, I have just had a confirmation phone call, no cancellation, be there at 9 a.m. Hooray!!!
Wonderful news. It will make such a difference.
From one who has already had both eyes de-cateracted, you will be well pleased with your new clarity and vivid colours again!
Hello,
Sending my good wishes for your eye surgery and recovery! I am know you will be glad to have it done! Take care! Have a great day!
I hope your surgery is unaffected by the cyber attack on the hospitals there. We heard of it, not realizing the effect they could have on the people. To be ready for surgery and to have it cancelled is hard.
Hello Nancy and thank you for stopping by my blog !
I'm so sorry about the length of time you had to wait for the surgery .. I had it done as well and the change is amazing .. I was so lucky to have both eyes done before Covid hit .. everything has slowed down to a snail's pace now for people. I'm so sorry about the cyber attack .. it makes me so angry that thugs are taking advantage of people like that especially hospitals .. there is no excuse in the universe for people like that.
You were interested in my tulips and perhaps if you look on line for them you might find them ? .. I wish you the very best of luck for the surgery .. you will be amazed with how colour and detail will jump out for you ;-) GOOD LUCK!
Joy
Dear Jean, I so hope the cataract operation goes well. I had both eyes done back in November 2009 and everything turned out well. Afterward, however, (and this h ad nothing to do with the cataracts) I began to have Glaucoma problems and that continues to now. It's so true, that quote about the water and the well. It's only when my eyes began to seek help that I truly began to appreciate my sight. Peace.
Hang in there Jean. Good luck with everything. Praying for you. Carol
I have heard wonderful things about how cataract surgery is miraculous! I hope that the surgery can happen as scheduled and that you find the result to be more than you were hoping for.
Best wishes although I suspect with the time difference you have already been sent home.
I had a cataract in my left eye removed last Nov. The procedure really was as painless as people say...and you will be able to see just how different the colors are between the eye with the new lens compared to the one not replaced...ageing really causes yellowing in a lens.
Nice to see Boris again! My husband's cataract surgeries went by very easily. Hope you will be seeing clearly again soon!
