My vicarious travel continues across British Columbia, Canada.
Whistler, where the 2025 Invictus games will be held, in February, some in Vancouver as well. The ski runs are numerous!! and amazing.
Then not far from Vancouver, is Cypress Mountain. The night skiing has begun.
This was edited with a B&W filter, I can only imagine the thrill of being there. And just 30 minutes from North Vancouver, a dream that is really true.
Down here, I am getting the rivet press into action, and all the new rivets, delivered by Hamish himself, we met at Sanson, so much traffic, and SO many thanks to you and the Green Beans NZ staff, and then the other day a quick trip into Palmerston North, a visit to K Mart, and some nifty little containers for different colours.
With messages from Green Beans to stock up, I did just that. I guarantee there are enough to last me for ever !!!
Originally for a Weber or similar BBQ, I have commandeered it before anyone decided to buy it. A few more containers next visit for some bag hardware and it will all be neat and tidy.

Love the photos. Wishing you both a happy, healthy and peaceful 2025.
Beautiful photos of Whistler!
I wish you all the best in 2025, a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
British Columbia is beautiful. I lived there one winter in the long ago. Lucky you to have a grandson sharing his adventures. That is one serious looking rivet press. Here's to another happy year of creativity!
I think we all need to remember our marmalade sandwiches, in the coming year. The world would be a happier place if we all had an emergency snack.
Gorgeous photos! Sounds like you have been busy. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year! I so appreciate you staying in touch!
Hi Jean and Happy New Year! I find I've been missing your recent burst of posts about B.C. (via your grandson's photos). Our daughter lives in B.C. and we miss seeing our grandchildren! But not all of Canada is as cold as you describe! It gets quite warm in the summer, though we have had it down to -30° here. My son once told me when I complained about the cold that you haven't experienced 'cold' until you've unloaded an airplane on the shores of Hudson Bay at -60° C! Thanks for your continuing comments on my own posts.
I have just read some data about Hudson Bay, and your son's words are so true.Years ago a lady was at the South Pole, and in one of her posts she said the weather was either COLD or VERY COLD. She gave us the background on preparation for a mid-winter medical evacuation, when twin prop Otters came from Canada, down through US, and across the water to Antarctica, they are planes that can do a STOL, and are used extensively way further north in Canada. Fascinating reading, I'll see if I can find the reference for you.Keep warm, it must be less than that -60 !!!
