Norton, in whatever country they may be, tried again last night to get my laptop to turn on, and RUN. No luck, so I had to do a total clean of the Hard Drive, thankfully I had a backup done earlier, and then I was assured another man, again in India, would take over from the Case Manager, this is at 11.30 p.m. They all work on " Maybe I will, maybe I won't", so after waiting longer, I finally went to bed. This morning, when it is 9 a.m. India time, they will get another phone call, probably by this time I will have it all up and running, with thanks to " Norman Ross" whose service for many years has been superb, I believe credit should go to those who give good service.
Quotation of the day, from Robert Bloch,
" The man who can smile when things go wrong has thought of someone else he can blame it on"

I love it when I get "give me a call". Yeah right, on your time or mine? Good luck!
Hi Julie, you are so right. This is from Hugh's laptop, and I am , so to speak " In the escalation queue". I now know what happens when I have that dreaded " laptop withdrawal".Never mind, I am hopeful that today might see it all fixed. Cheers from Jean.
All of my computers up to the current one have had Norton subscriptions - paid every year faithfully. When I got this one last year our IT guy told me that our org is reccommending a free service called AVAST which I now use. Is it better, how would I know? Wishing you a better day!
I hope that you sort it all out. It is a good reminder to all of us to back up our hard drives!
