Life has been extra busy, lawns need mowing, plants need planting, seedlings need watering, and quilting blocks are waiting.
A very dear friend of ours is extremely ill, we drove down for a visit yesterday, and now we wait for a phone call.
The night sky called to me tonight, to fill my heart with something other than sadness.
The colour gradually faded from orange and gold, to pink, and mauve. In five minutes, the darkness was almost covering any remnants left.
Quotation of the day by, Marcus Tullius Cicero
Friendship improves happiness and abates misery,
by the doubling of our joy
and the dividing of our grief.
Greetings to all, Jean

What a lovely quotation, Jean - there is such beauty in good friendship, as I'm sure your friend knows.
Lovely photos of beautiful colors dear Jean.
What a wonderful quote too.
Loss hurts. May your heart be soothed by God's lovely and wonderful creation.

Thank you all for your caring words. Hannah, welcome, your blog has stunning autumn colours. Friends, either ones here in NZ, or you all in blogland, are such a huge, wonderful, part of my life, and to share sadness, this is such a comfort. The week ahead will not be easy, I will share any news. Fond greetings, Jean.
Wonderful photos and quote. Sorry about your sadness.
Nature does have a way of taking our minds off of our troubles -- lovely shots Nancy. xo
Jean, I am certain that your heart was warmed by these beautiful colours of your evening sky.
I wish you the best during this difficult time and hope for your friend to be at peace.
Take care.
So sorry for the sadness you're feeling. What a gift, to find some comfort in the beauty around you...may that continue to carry you through the days ahead.
May you find the strength you need at this time. Wonderful quote. Lean on your memories and that you were there for your friend.
I'm so sorry about your friend... so sorry. I'm glad that you were able to see her. The skies were beautiful, in a fleeting way, much like life itself.
Take care of yourself.
I was sorry to hear that you have lost this friend. I too have a friend who is battling and I do hope the doctors will be able to help her. It is so hard to know what to say or do. Your post reminds me that just being there is maybe enough.
Hi Tanya, yes we have lost a very special friend, but by being there , as dear friends over the last 2 years, and to have that one last visit, meant so much. illness that creeps up unknown, then gallops ahead at full steam, is hard to accept. A card, a phone call, a txt, or a visit, they all show our love for another, as do our words. Fond greetings, Jean. p.s. take care as you travel through the weeks ahead. My thoughts are with you every day.
