Shades of pink, gold and blue

The poppies took a battering these last few days, wind and rain quickly put paid to those delicate petals. This one barely managed to stay in one piece. The dark background is the goldfish pond, out of focus as it is meant to be.This one stem  curved out from the ground, and hovered like a fishing rod, over the water.

The night sky never fails to throw colours from nature’s palette. Tonight was no exception, brilliant orange/golden wafts of cloud, with blue that  turned darker as I stood outside in the cold wind. These were taken 3 minutes apart.

8.42 p.m., from our front lawn

The view from our front lawn tonight

Quotation of the day, from William Blake,     “ The Tiger”

Tiger , tiger, burning bright ,

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Greetings from Jean

The poppy is lovely as are the night skies.

I also wanted to say how very sorry I am about the loss of your precious friend. What beautiful words were spoken, and I know she was very much loved and is very much missed. I hope you are finding comfort among friends and family, and in your memories of her that can never be taken away...

Thanks Kim, a huge gap, I keep thinking Janet will come skipping up our front path, reality can be cruel, but memories lighten and brighten the sadness, and all words of comfort from afar have helped me so very much through all this. I treasure your caring.
Thanks Teresa, the sky last night was glorious, as the temperature dropped. And this morning, Sunday at 6.30 a.m. fine and sunny. Fond greetings to all, Jean.

Jean, thanks for sending some of your NZ warmth this way! Always a pleasure.
The Poppy and the sunset sky are a perfect match....you have a wonderful 'eye'.
Hope your weekend is going well.
