Did you hear me say “ Another New Modem”???

Yes, another new modem, the replacement one worked intermittently, then stopped,  a phone call or two, Harvey Norman have been so helpful, and a replacement one was  arranged  immediately. The new one is not Belkin ( after 2 faulty ones), this time they gave me a Netgear. setting it up was a breeze, and it is  working like a dream!!! Yes, service given so readily, and professionally, deserves to be thanked, not only to the staff members, but in public!! So here it is, a big

“ THANKYOU”, Harvey Norman, and  Vodafone,

for all the phone calls and time spent trying to fix the problem.

Here in New Zealand there is a saying about the Cabbage Tree or ti  kouka,

“ When the Cabbage Tree flowers early, it will be a long hot  summer”.

These trees are on our eastern boundary at the edge of the lawn. Taken today in the late afternoon sun .

Now for a little bit of fun in post-processing. this bearded Iris is stunning all by itself, but  some adjustments to the original  brings out that translucent effect.

“ Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature”

Glad your modem problem seems to be sorted.

Your Cabbage trees are ahead of mine. They are just in bud now.

Oh my gosh, Jean that flower is gorgeous. I wished we had those trees here. I love Netgear better than anything I have had before. Hope all is better. Have a great weekend.

Thank you all for lovely words. The bearded iris are truly stunning this year, maybe they are blooming so well as they have not been moved for some years .And the cabbage trees, the Tui love the berries, but dry leaves fall, and then get caught in the mower!!! A bonus, rolled into a figure eight, they make great kindling. Another cool morning here, 6 a.m. and 5.6C outside, and will drop till about 7 a.m. And I'm so glad to have a Netgear modem/router, it's going well. Greetings to all, Jean.

Jean, What a bummer to have these continuing problems with your modem. Hope it's now fixed for good. I'd think by the size of those cabbage tree flowers that a long, hot summer is due! Hope Hugh and you are feeling better. It's snowing hard and blowing here in Breckenridge.

So glad the modem situation is rectified, nothing worse than something not working and relying on others to fix the problem. In this case it worked out perfectly. When we went wireless nothing worked right, so many hair pulling days then all of the sudden it worked ~~~ ever since. Post processing has taken over my days because I'm always looking for something new and fresh . Your iris is a beauty!!Also, I've never seen a Cabbage Tree before ~~~ very unique I would have so much fun with my macro lens on this plant. Thanks for sharing Jean!

Ron

Lovely words from you all, thanks so much,... Ron, I'll try and get a flower down for a macro shot for you, although my "macro" is not the 100% real expensive one, 50mm by redemption when I bought my camera . the Netgear modem is going fine, how I did miss all this for those few days!!!A bit like a starvation diet!!!And more Iris are coming into flower, lots of colours this year. I looked at Northern weather on Wunderground, and it looks like cold, rain and snow in some places, Wrap up warm, wherever you are... Greetings to all, Jean.

Hi!
Great you have got a repaired internet. We have fiber and very fast one too. We are living outdoors but since the big storm we hade couple of years ago we could dig the electricity Cables down and also put the internet Cables with it.
The iris looks great. We have to wait for some 6 months.....

Thank you again for not forgetting me.
Can't wait to read all you've posted that I missed.
