Words from a Friend

Lorraine at “Flower Lady’s Musings” posted these words yesterday, and when I asked if I could please use them on my blog too, for you all to read, sent me the most lovely email,  with “ Yes” and more, Lorraine is one  of my many special friends here, and her words each day are so positive, her grief was and still is  there for us to share, and we continue to send her comfort when needed. Her  garden flowers  show nature’s beauty, the ongoing work outside and inside , show her inner strength,  the words her faith.

Her darling Mark would be so proud, and I’m sure is smiling as he watches from the wonderful place he has reached in Heaven.

Thanks  Lorraine, a shared quotation for us all to read .

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.

It turns what we have into enough, and more.

It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order,

confusion to clarity.

It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home,

a stranger into a friend.

Gratitude makes sense of our past,

brings peace for today,

and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Melody Beattie

The quiet corner of the garden

Here the turmoil continues, but is easing, once decisions are made, the hardest part is maybe somewhat over, and what better reason to sort out, tidy up, give away, sell or pack for later. I am a true hoarder,  and I’m sure will find so many   “ goodies” saved for a later/rainy  day.Well, that day has arrived and they will be examined very carefully, and sent to the appropriate  box. The gazebo provides a quiet  place to sit.

My quotation of the day, author unknown

“True friendship is not seen through the eyes, but the heart,

it is not measured in days or years,

real friendship is shown in times of trouble,

and prosperity in your life  is measured, not by wealth,

but  by friendships that last forever.

Greetings from Jean

You'll be a busy lady for awhile, Jean! I hope all goes smoothly with your "cleaning out." I did so myself a couple years ago and felt relieved when all the unused "stuff" was gone. Take time for some rest in that lovely gazebo.

Lovely words Jean.
I've always found that a move gives you the best reason possible to have a good clear out!

I wonder what is just around the corner for you? Moving from Tutuaenui - I did that when I was seventeen and a half. Now that's a while ago.
I wish you well with selling and the move.
I think you will find treasures as you are sorting that you have forgotten about and are hard to part with.
That's a lovely quote.

What a beautiful quotation posted by Lorraine. I remember watching an Oprah show a few years ago now all about Gratitude. From that point on I have tried to foster this. Sophie came along and she has helped me spread my wings around the universe.
Love your gazebo and perfect place to deal with life decisions. Once made and settled...forward ho, Jean!!!

Ron, maybe Sophie is in the lyrics by Bette Midler " You are the wind beneath my wings",Gratitude and thanks are so important, and Lorraine found this beautiful quote , words that make your heart sing with joy. Yes, the decision is made, and Hugh will be jumping with joy, I have started to sort, tidy, pack or dispose... "forward ho" !! indeed, love your words of encouragement. Greetings to all at your place from Jean

Ali, I have already found some "goodies" that just call out for keeping safe.Quotations, I have 2 books, one from my dear friend Walter ( of The Compass) and can usually find one there, but Lorraine's words spoke volumes. And Google can rescue me if pages do not open up to one that suits the day.Yes, a huge upheaval, but today my heart is happier with it all. Greetings from Jean

Love the quotes. Learning gratitude is so important to be happy with ones life. Yes moving a great way cleaning out and downsizing. I sure wish I could get hubby to at least get rid of some stuff. I am pretty good and don't hang on to things. Happy sorting. Hugs Carrie

Lorraines quote is something we all need to hear and apply to our lives.
And the quote on friendship is a good one too!

Both quotes are good reminder to us about what's really important.
Blessing to your dear friend Lorraine.

What a wonderful quote to read on a daily basis to keep us focused on what is important. What a great gift from your friend Jean.
Your 'things' are just that....things. They are important to us at the time we acquire them but as time and life passes by we see their true value as being just little crouches to help us along the way. Letting them go can be so freeing. Just ask me...your hoarder friend in Nova Scotia!!
