Golden Streaks in our Evening Sky

This morning dawned dull, cloudy, and a light drizzle. No  sparkling sunrise to greet 2013.  This evening showed these beautiful shades of pale smoky blue/cream/ grey, in the West, and in the South-East, streaks of gold against the deeper blue of the night.evening sky in the West

This was taken by our back fence, looking South-East. Streaks of gold, lasting for several minutes, then all gone to leave deep blue/black.

A perfect end  to the beginning of a New Year.

Quotation of the day, from Edith Lovejoy Pierce

“ We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.

We are going to put words on them ourselves.

The Book is called Opportunity

and its  first chapter is New Year’s Day”

Greetings from Jean
