The Mail Box

courier bagbag for mug rugsmug rugs
This week the mail box  was the best place to visit, open the flap and there it was. A Parcel!!  and a Card from Brunei. Hurry back inside and find the scissors.
Carefully open the bag at the back. Then put on reading glasses. WOW, The bag has a big note in large letters  PULL ZIP TO OPEN. How did I miss those words.
Inside a beautiful bag with eastern motifs on it, and red ribbon handles.
Open the bag and inside, wrapped so carefully in tissue paper are…
The Mug Rugs. So lovely, my favourite colours,Ta so much Linda.

Papakura High School front gate

Next was the postcard.Jeanette and I started as foundation pupils at Papakura High  School together in 1954.She and Trev are in Brunei to stay with their family , Ross and Robyn, and grand-daughter Diana.   Papakura High School photo courtesy of the Internet.I see on the net there is a much later pic of the front gates, much smarter and modern, and a big fence as well. Somewhere I still have the School Badge, Summa Pete, ( Seek thou the Highest). Enjoy your holiday Jeanette and Trev. The heat, The luxury, the food. The family especially.

Quotation of the day from W.B. Yeats,  1865-1939

Think where man’s glory most begins and ends,
And say my glory was I had such friends.

Cheers from Jean
